About Us

Danika and Kelly are two good friends and homeschoolin' mamas who want to get to know YOU!

Both of us were philosophy "orphans," not finding one that really fit us - we loved the rich literature and focus on habits from  Charlotte Mason but also the wild freedom of unschooling, for example - but when we discovered project-based homeschooling, our souls lit up. Now we run a project-based co-op together with some other amazing mamas, and it has been nothing short of magical!

We feel like project-based learning is the best-kept secret in the homeschool world, and is exactly what many families are looking for. Here we'll share our journeys and discoveries, not just about PBL, but also the normal ups and downs of life on this bumpy, fulfilling, challenging, beautiful path!

Resources

Most of the resources out there for project-based learning are written for classroom teachers, so it takes some work to translate them for homeschool use. We are gathering and sharing our favorite resources, and sometimes creating some of our own!

We also share ideas and resources regularly on Instagram (@Bramblewood_mamas) and Facebook group (Project Based Homeschoolers).

"Being in the same room with these women is such a treat! Danika and Kelly have such passion and immense knowledge to share. I’d highly recommend others attend their events. You will walk away with new homeschool connections, new skills and will want to race home and start implementing what you learned! I will definitely be signing up for the next workshop!"

"I attended the PBL workshop at Bramblewood Learning Community and got so much out of it! Danika and Kelly organized the workshop so that they shared useful and relevant information (clearly, concisely, and with time for questions) and then led meaningful group activities where we designed projects! I especially loved that there was time to workshop a project for our community where we had access to Danika and Kelly's support. The vibe was encouraging and supportive and fun! I'm looking forward to attending another workshop with Kelly and Danika."
